About me

Hello, My name is Sara, I’m a mother of 2, wife, and dog mum to 2 pups.

I’ve struggled for years with my weight and my health, especially after having my youngest 7 years ago. Within that first year I did manage to lose some weight, but then I was taken in to hospital to have surgery. This was the first operation that really weakened my core.

Within 14 months of having the surgery, my back had developed some painful issues. After lots of investigations it turned out I had a herniated disk that was compressing against my Sciatic nerve. This caused extreme pain to the point where at one point I couldnt walk further than 100 yards without crippling over in pain.

One day, I was in so much pain I couldn’t walk, it was unbearable. It was this day my doctor took one look at me and instantly rang the hospital insisting I have surgery to remove the herniation. This doctor could very well have saved me, without this intervention, the likelihood of me needed a permanent wheelchair would have been high. So to that doctor, I thank you.

The period after that surgery, I had to learn how to walk again, and learn how my body worked. This became the lowest time in my overall recovery. This was November 2017. Since then I feel like I’ve spiraled and lost control of my health and overall well-being, and I need to use this year to now focus on my health, and use this blog as a tracker for my health and my progress, and to use this space as a way of releasing my feelings and emotions.
